The 2003 Honda CR-V comes in both manual and automatic transmission configurations, so depending on which You have, You'll take a different fluid and a slightly different capacity. The manual transmission useS4.0 pints of Honda's proprietary blend of manual transmission fluid, part number 08798-9031. The automatic transmission models will use 3.3 quarts of DEXRON-ViAutomatic transmission fluid for an initial fill, and 7.6 quarts for a total fill. Especially in older vehicles, it's important to regularly check and change Your transmission fluid in order to avoid damage caused by breakdown. You should be checking the level every 5,000 or so miles, and changing every 30,000 to 50,000 miles. Low transmission fluid is the leading cause of overheating transmissions, which can end in extremely costly repairs or replacements. As the '03 CR-V's transmission replacement cost now outweighs the value of the vehicle, You'd do best to ensure that it stays running smoothly.

Hey William K... Dont you hate it when unqualified people give incorrect information? The question is what is the capacity. It is not asking what is needed for a drain and fill, which is 3.1 to 3.7 quarts. The Actual capacity of the entire transmission is closer to 8 quarts.
