The stock speakers in Your 2004 Dodge Dakota are size 6-¾ inches in the rear doors and 6-¾ inches in the front. Replacing the factory speakers is not very difficult, the hardest part is removing the door panels, which only requires a few basic hand tools to do. Once You have the door panels off You only need to unscrew the stock speakers and replace them with the new ones. MoSTStereo shops will sell You a wire adapter that plugs into the factory harness so You dont have to cut the speaker terminals off. The only other thing You have to worry about is making sure the replacements are shallow enough that they allow the windows to roll all the way down without hitting the back of the speaker.

So its 6 1/ 2 and you need the ringmount attachment so the windows wont hit speakers. Other wise you will be replacing the windows soon
