A 2004 Dodge Ram 1500 truck equipped with A5.7L Hemi engine will have a motor oil capacity of 7 US quarts when the filter is included. You will need to use SAE 5W-30 motor oil for this engine. The oil drain plug for this truck will have a head size of 13mm and require 20 lbs-ft of torque to remove it if You are using a torque wrench. If You only have access to hand tools then a socket wrench with a 13mm socket will do the job. If You want to take this truck in to a shop for an oil change You will be looking at spending between $120 and $150 for a fill up.

5 w 30 was the original oil specified, they then changed it about two years later to 5w20, for better epa acceptance.
