The 2004 Dodge Ram 1500 truck comes equipped with three different speaker sizes. They are easy to locate around Your vehicle interior. The speakers located in the corner dash are eacH3.5 inches in diameter. The ones found in the kick panels are 6.5 inches each. The final units are located inside the door frames in the front of the vehicle. These are each 6 x 9 inches. If You find that a speaker is faulty or failing, first check all wires and connections to make sure nothing has become loose or damaged. If the speaker itself is faulty, You will need to replace it. The cost to replace one unit can range between $48 to over $372, depending on where You purchase it, the power behind it, and the brand.

The front speakers are correct 6x9 but the rear doors are 5.25.. I have the door panel off as I type this and have tried to put 6.5 in and they DEFINITELY DO NOT FIT!!!

The 2004 dodge ram 1500 features 3-1/2" corner dash speakers, 6x9" front door ones, and 6-1/2" component black speakers in the kick panels.

They never tell you what brand you need shallow speakers because most hit the window when coming down I still have not found the right ones
2 Door Rams use 6½" speakers in rear corners behind seats... 4 Door Rams use 5¼" speakers in the rear doors... That is why you are seeing 2 different rear speaker sizes... Hopefully this will help you...

I just swapped the factory Chrysler speakers with 6x9 and 5 1/4 Rockford Fosgate punch series. I had trim about a quarter of an inch in the back doors and make screw holes. The front door had to be trimmed 3/8" on the long sides and the screw holeslined up. The reason is Fosgate housing is wider than factory.

The front is 6x9 but the back is 5.25 I was putting a 6.25 had to rig it up no biggie though glad I did though.
