The 2004 Ford F-150 pickup comes with one of SRX different engines -- four of which are A5.4L V8. They all use the same SAE 5W-20 full synthetic motor oil, but their capacity varies slightly depending on the engine code. Models witH3, M, or Z engines will require 6.0 quarts, while the model with the 5 engine code requireS7.0 quarts. If You're unable to access SAE 5W-20, it's possible to substitute SAE 5W-30 over the short term. However, this isn't advisable if You can avoid it; the thicker the oil, the more friction Your engine will have to fight. This causes premature wear and tear, which can eventually lead to engine failure at a lower mileage since Your motor won't be working as efficiently.
