The 2004 V8 variant of the Volkswagen Touareg is infamous for throwing fault code P0118; if that's the reason You're looking, then You're certainly not alone. If it's something else, iApologize for jumping to conclusions about Your German engineering; I'll do better next time! Anyway, You have two different coolant temperature censors on the V8 configuration, and both fail with relatively equal frequency. One is located on the front passenger's side of the vehicle adjAccent to the bottom of the radiator. You'll find the other between the engine and the firewall, near the top center of the engine. This one can be difficult to access, but You should be able to trace the hoses to it if You follow them to the firewall.

There is a 2nd coolant temp sensor on the back of the engine. Anyone have part numbers for both sensors?
