On the 2005 Acura MDX, the fuel filter is not considered a serviceable part. It's located within the fuel tank, as part of the fuel pump assembly. It should typically last for the lifetime of the vehicle; however, if You believe You're having issues, You'll need to replace the entire assembly. This is not advisable, if it's avoidable -- chances are, Your fuel issue is in another part of the system. However, if You're certain that there's an issue with the pump or filter, it's recommended that You have a certified mechanic perform the replacement. It's necessary to drop the fuel tank, which is quite difficult to do if You don't have access to a quality lift. It may be pricey, but it's less expensive than what You run the risk of breaking if You do it Yourself.
