The main airbag sensor in a 2005 Chevy Equinox can be found on the radiator behind the front bumper. This is the main sensor for the vehicle, but there are auxiliary sensors that are located all around the car. The airbag sensors are used to determine when there has been an impact while driving so that it can deploy the airbags in the cabin and help save the driver and passengers. If there is a problem with one of Your sensors usually You will get an airbag warning light on the dash. When an airbag warning light turns on at Your dash I recommend takeng it to a dealership because they have special tools to diagnose faults in the system.

The 2005 Chevy equinox airbag sensor locations are distributed across the front end of the vehicle, in the engine compartment and behind the dash.
