The brake line size for the 2005 Chevy Silverado is pretty standard. The rear fitting is about M11-1.0, which equalS6.9/16 X25.4. This measures very close to the standard 1/4" brake line fittings that are equal to 7/16 X24. The front fitting is M12-1.25, which equals to 7.6/16 X20.3, when compared to the 1/2 X20. The brake line fittings are sometimes also called tube nuts, or in some cases, flare fittings as well. There are actually two basic sizes of these fittings, which are the 3/16"/4.75mm brake line also known as CNF-3 and the larger size 1/4", known as CNF-4. These brake lines play a significant role on Your cars overall brake performance and You should always use the original brake line fittings to avoid leaks from replacements and maintain optimal brake performance.
