The 2005 Chevy Suburban fuel filter is located inside the fuel pump module and is listed by the manufacturer as a non-serviceable part. This essentially means that the fuel filter should last the life of the vehicle and does not need to be replaced. The only time the part would be replaced is when You are replacing the fuel pump module to which the fuel filter is connected to. If You do have problems with Your fuel filter or fuel pump some of the signs will be trouble starting the engine, hesitation when accelerating, frequent idling and sputtering, and engine mIS Fires/low fuel economy. To gain access to the fuel pump and fuel filter You will have to remove the gas tank which will require You to remove the back seat in order to be able to remove the fuel pump module.

Your evap control vent is not functioning or is plugged with dirt. If the vent doesn’t open the the gas fumes can’t escape
When pumping gas it splits the gas out like it is full and it is not.
