Depending on configuration, the 2005 Ford F-250 may have either a limited slip rear differential or a standard rear differential. In either case, You'll be using 7.0 pints of 75W-140. However, if You're equipped with a limited slip differential, it's also wise to use LSD additive, which primes and conditions the differential for optimal usage. The front differential requireS6.3 pints of 80W-90 gear oil, but can also take 75W-90 or 75W-110. However, it's exceedingly important to note that the specifications are different between the fronts and the rears -- under no circumstances should You use the same gear oil in both differentials. Since they're vastly different specs, You should treat them as such and always use the recommended fluids without much deviation.
