A faulty fuel tank pressure sensor is a common issue across many model years of the Honda CR-V, and unfortunately for You, it includes model year 2005. Honda doesn't make it simple to get to to replace, either; issues with the sensor will throw OBD2 fault codes that cause the check engine light to illuminate, and You'll most likely need to take it to a shop for the replacement. This is because on the 05 CR-V, the fuel tank pressure sensor is part of the fuel pump assembly, which is located inside the fuel tank itself. Getting to it requires dropping the fuel tank, which is difficult without access to an overhead lift. The replacement is relatively inexpensive, but labor hours can begin to rack up with any job that requires dropping the fuel tank.

The fuel pressure regulator on the 2005 honda crv is located at the end of the fuel rail connected to the injectors going back into the car.
