You'll find the 2006 Cadillac CTS's starter on the lower left side of the engine bay. To best access it, You may need to jack up the vehicle, place it on jack stands, and remove the tire and inner wheel well. Alternatively, depending on configuration, it may be possible to access it from the top of the vehicle; this is not recommended for replacement, but can helpful for inspection. If You do plan to replace, it's very important to disconnect the negative terminal from the battery before beginning any electrical system repairs. Failing to do so can result in a serious risk of injury or even death. A CTS starter replacement is a fairly routine procedure; if You need to find instructions for doing so, You can find more details at https://itstillruns.com/instructions-change-starter-Cadillac-ctS7603598.html
