The 2006 Dodge Durango 4.7 knock sensor is located in the engine block under the intake manifold. It is a black piece of plastic that looks like a circle with a tube coming off of it, and there is a bronze metal part in the middle of the circle. The sensor, as its name implies, is intended to detect knocks and bumps coming from the ignition. While loud backfires are Audible, a lot of problems make sounds a human cant hear. The sensor will catch those and trip a trouble code. If the sensor is bad then the engine will not feELRight, and You may have loud noises coming from it. Eventually, it could die altogether, so if the sensor goes bad get it fixed.
