The AUX input in a 2006 Ford Freestyle can be found in the glove compartment. This is a 3.5mm aux port and You will need a male to male 3.5mm cable to be able to attach an MP3 player or smartphone to the vehicle. Using an auxiliary input in a car has become very common with the rise of phones and MP3 players as sources of music. You can select them using the AUxButton on the dash and then You control the music using the device itself rather than the head unit. You can also conveniently store Your external device in Your glove compartment so that You do not have to mess with it while You drive if You have a playlist of songs You would like to listen to.

Mine doesn't have an aux on the dash or the glove box.
