The 2007 Chrysler 300 comes with one of four different engine options, from a 2.7L or 3.5L V6 to A5.7L or 6.1L V8. You indicated that You're looking at the smallest engine offered, the 2.7L. This engine has a total oil capacity of 6 quarts, and it recommends SAE 5W-20 full synthetic motor oil. In a bind, You can opt to use SAE 5W-30 instead, but use caution and replace it as soon as convenient. The reason behind this is that oil weight indicates viscosity at varying temperatures. The first number is viscosity at startup, and the second is at operating temperature. Lower numbers are "better", so if You want to keep Your engine running more smoothly and for a longer period of time (You probably do), pay the extra few dollars and go with the SAE 5W-20 -- You'll thank Yourself in the long run.
