The transmission fluid capacity in a 2007 Dodge Nitro depends on which transmission is in the vehicle. The 4-speed automatic came standard with the 3.7L V-6 engine and has a dry fill capacity of 8.8 quarts and a serviceable capacity of only 4 quarts. The 5-speed automatic transmission, which is standard with the 4.0L V-6 engine and was optional with the 2.8, has a dry fill capacity of 7.8 quarts and a serviceable capacity of only 4.75 quarts. The 6-speed manual transmission has a fluid capacity of about 4 quarts. In the automatic transmissions Dodge recommends using Mopar ATF+4 Automatic Transmission Fluid and in the manual transmissions Mopar Manual Transmission Lubricant or an equivalent that meets the DaimlerChrysler Material Standard MS-9224 requirements.
