The axle nuts on a 2007 Dodge Ram 2500 typically require a 1-11/16 inch socket to remove. As this is an obscure size, it's typically also possible to use A43mm socket, but this is of course not recommended. You can find heavy duty 1-11/16 inch sockets through most automotive part stores (or even hardware stores) for the $20 to $30 range, and they'll be good to have if You're going to continue driving the truck. Another important consideration is the axle nut torque, which is shockingly high. You'll first need to torque to 132 lb-ft upon replacement, and later 263 lb-ft once You've rotated the axle several times to seat the wheel bearing. This is an important number that You shouldn't come shy of, since the consequences can dire, especially on a heavy duty truck.
