The 2007 Jeep Commander has a refrigerant capacity of just under 24 ounces. Recharging Your air conditioning system is not something I would recommend doing unless You are properly trained and have the right equipment to do the job safely. There are DIY kits that allows consumers to refill their own systems, but this does not take into account what happened to the refrigerant that was already in the system. Did it leak out, most likely yes, and only during proper servicing can these leaks be detected. During a proper recharge, the system is placed under vacuum to remove all the old refrigerant and captures it so it isnt released into the environment. The vacuum also removes any moisture in the lines and will show if there are leaks.
