The 2007 Mazda6 starter is located at the base of the motor where the engine meets with the transmission bell housing. The starter has a gear that extends from it and goes out to the engine to allow it to crank over. If You are trying to start Your car and just hear clicking or grinding noises then it may be a sign that there is a problem with the starter. You will want to check and make sure that the wiring is tight to the starter as well because if it is not getting a solid connection it will not work. If You do need to change a starter it is a pretty simple process and should cost under $350 when done by a shop.
