For optimal fuel economy and help starting the 2007 Mitsubishi Eclipse in colder weather, it is recommended to use SAE 5W-20 engine oil. Only use oils that are ILSAC certified or have an API classification SM or higher. To check the oil level, pull the dipstick, wipe it off, and insert it all the way into the tube. Remove it again and make sure the level is between the two marks. Of the oil level is too low, remove the oil filler cap and add enough oil to bring it into the good range. The Eclipse can hold 4.2 quarts in the oil pan and an additional .32 quarts in the filter and should be changed SRX months or 7,500 miles
