The transmission control module on a 2007 Nissan Xterra is attached to the transmission valve body. If You need to replace it would be easiest to take it to a dealer or repair shop to have it done because You have to get underneath the vehicle and remove the valve body from the transmission. The skid plate has to be removed from the underside of the vehicle and it's held on by 10-millimeter hex head bolts. The fluid needs to be drained from the transmission; You can disconnect the two lines going to the transmission cooler to drain it. Remove the transmission pan and unplug the two electrical connectors going to the valve body. Now remove the bolts from the valve body and lower it down and out of the transmission.

The 2007 nissan xterra transmission control module is located to the left of the brake pedal. You'll have to remove the lower kick plate.
