The 2007 VW Jetta transmission control module (TCM) location is under the passenger seat. You will have to pull the carpet on that side also. These cars are known to leak water in and ruin the TCM as well as the wiring harness. Some symptoms of a bad TCM are Slow Acceleration: It takes longer than normal for Your vehicle to pick up speed. Gear Slippage: Your transmission switches gears without warning or without You shifting. And finally, Inability to Shift: You can't shift out of neutral. Driving with a faulty transmission control module can cause lasting damage to the wiring in Your transmission.

On 2006 Jetta it’s right behind the front left fender close to driver door so if u have a 06 don’t bother taking your seat out or checking under right wipers near the Ecm just loosen fender andremove wheel well and you’ll save a lot of time work and frustration good luck everyone last vw I’ll ever Chevy or ford from now reliability cheap parts and less speciality tools vw’s are for people who like working on car more than driving it pod people who buy new and trade in every couple of years.
