The 2008 Chevrolet Malibu does not have a dedicated alternator fuse or relay in either of the two fuse boxes -- the passenger's compartment box or the engine compartment box. Instead, You'll find what's known as a "fusible link" directly inline between the starter and the alternator -- this is what serves as Your "alternator fuse" in the vehicle. If You're having issues with battery discharge while driving, it's possible that Your alternator is at fault. In that case, the first thing that You should check is this fusible link. You can do so by using a digital multimeter to check power to the heavy red wire that runs from the alternator. If Your issue is power discharge while the engine is off, it's more likely that You've got a rogue component that's draining Your battery.
