The 2008 Chevrolet Silverado's turn signal "flasher" unit is electronic. It's located in the control module, which can be found underneath the driver's side of the dashboard. If You're having issues with the turn signals on the vehicle, You may have a burnt out bulb, a bad fuse, or a failed relay. All of these components should be checked before replacement of the flasher unit. The simplest diagnosis is perhaps the bulbs. You'll want to inspect each of the bulbs closely for failure. This is easiest to do by putting on Your hazard lights, and isolating each bulb. If they all test good, then You can move onto the fuses and relays. These can be found in the engine compartment fuse panel, as well as the cab panel. If no issues with fuses or relays, then You can typically move on to the flasher unit.
