The starter on a 2008 Chevrolet Tahoe Hybrid is located on the passenger's side of the vehicle, behind and below the engine. To access it, You'll need to go through the passenger's side wheel well, removing the plastic inner fender. You'll also need to jack the vehicle up and safely place it on jack stands, before removing the front passenger's side tire. If You're going through a professional, You can typically expect a starter replacement for the Tahoe Hybrid to cost between $320 and $510. Buying the parts Yourself, You can usually find for about $170 for a remanufactured component or $210 for a new one, so DIYers represent a significant coSTSavings. It shouldn't take You more than a few hours, at most, to complete the repair; just remember to disconnect the negative terminal from the battery, since the starter is part of the electrical system.

The hybrid doesn't usea traditional starter. The hybrid transmission actually starts the engine using the hybrid battery not the ACC battery
