One of the most common issues with the 2008 Dodge Avenger is a poor idle, usually caused by impending failure of the idle air control valve. If You're looking for the part, luckily Dodge has made it relatively easy to find. The idle air control valve is located directly on the throttle body assembly. This is found at the front of the engine compartment, near the air intake apparatus. If You can locate Your air filter housing, You're in the right area. The idle air control valve is a small gold removable part, and luckily it's relatively inexpensive. You'll be looking at between $20 and $60 for a replacement, and You can usually complete the job within an hour.
