The 2008 Dodge Dakota has a cabin air filter that is fairly easy to find. It can be located in the area behind the glove box. To find it, go to the passenger side of Your truck, and get inside. Using simple hand tools, like a flat blade screwdriver or a prying tool, extract the glove box from its compartment. The cabin air filter should now be visible inside. If it is d***y or clogged, it will need to be replaced. You can find one at any automotive parts and accessories location, or at big name retailers. You can expect to pay between $16 and $54 for a new filter.

Same here, glove box is pulled, no evidence of an air filter housing.

I just pulled the glove box and all that is behind it is a fan motor and some air directional housings. I have checked several online manuals and they say nothing about how to replace the cabin filter.
