The 2009 Ford Focus idle air control valve located at the front driver side of the engine below the throttle body. It controls the airflow into the engine while at idle to keep it running smoothly, some of the symptoms of a bad valve is rough idling, the engine shutting off when either coming to a stop or downshifting at low speeds. To remove it just disconnect the electrical connection and remove the 8 mm two bolts. A new one will cost around $55, depending on where You purchase it. It's an easy job and will only take at most 30 minutes, but a reputable shop or dealer might charge between $50 to $70 per hour for labor costs to have them replace it for You.
