The 2009 Mercedes-Benz C300 uses a M14 X1.5 lug nut with a 17-millimeter hex head size. Well installing the lug nuts make sure that the tapered end is facing towards the rim. Improperly installed lug nuts could damage the wheel and potentially cause it to fall off the car leading to a serious accident or even a fatality. The C300 has five lug nuts on each wheel and has A5 X12-millimeter wheel bolt pattern. When installing the lug nuts hand tightened them at first and then working in a crisscross pattern tighten every other lug nut until they're torqued to 100-foot pounds. After the lug nuts have been installed, check that they are all properly tightened after driving for about 20 miles or so.
