The 2010 Buick LaCrosse is not equipped with a fuel pressure regulator but instead uses a sensor located under the intake manifold. The sensor is responsible for informing the Lacrosse's ECM that in turn switches on the fuel pump. A failing sensor will manifest as hard starting, a decrease in fuel economy, acceleration power and frequent stalling. An illuminated "check engine" light will accompany symptoms. The sensor is not only a key part of injection pressures but also informs the fuel to air ratio, causing a lack of performance if measurements and readings have been compromised. Performance and drivability will continue to decline without replacement. The average cost to repair the sensor is between $250-$300 in parts and labor.
