The type of power steering fluid that is recommended to be used in the 2010 Cadillac SRX is DEXRON-ViAutomatic Transmission Fluid. On the reservoir there is a MINImum and a maximum level line and when You add fluid You shouldn't go past the maximum line. The fluid helps to transfer the power in Your steering system to be able to make it easier to turn the wheels. To check the fluid You should first turn off the vehicle and let it cool down. Make sure to wipe off the cap of the reservoir so no dirt or anything gets into it. Unscrew the cap and wipe the dipstick clean then replace the cap, tighten it and then take the cover off and check the level on the dipstick.
