The fuel filter on a 2008 Ford Focus SE is located right in front of the gas tank on the passenger side. To remove it You will need a jack and stand, ratchet with an extension, 7mm and 10 mm sockets and a fuel line disconnect tool. To begin, remove the fuel pump relay from the engine compartment fuse box. Start the car to drain most of the fuel and pressure from the lines. Once the car stalls out, try starting it a couple more times until it doesnt start. Now lift the car, place the jack in front of the rear passenger tire at the lift point on the frame and place the jack stand under the vehicle once it is high enough. Using the fuel line tool, disconnect the lines on each side of the filter. Be careful because some gas will pour out of the filter once it is disconnected. Remove the 10mm bolt that holds the bracket to the car and pull the filter out. You will have to take the bracket off the old filter and put it on the new one., it is held on by A7mm bolt.
