This will be suitable for both topping off a low transmission fluid reservoir as well as using for a full flush. For Your regular engine oil, You'll want to use a synthetic SAE 5W-20 motor oil, to fill the 5.3 quart oil reservoir. Unlike the ATF fluid, You can modify the viscosity of the engine oil to better suit Your location; going with a thinner one will actually allow Your engine to function better.
