In Your 2010 Mazda3 , You should use a full synthetic Mercon ATF fluid, such as Valvoline MaxLife's, which sells for $30 at O'Reilly's. This will be suitable for both topping off a low transmission fluid reservoir as well as using for a full flush. For Your regular engine oil, You'll want to use a synthetic SAE 5W-20 motor oil, to fill the 5.3 quart oil reservoir. Unlike the ATF fluid, You can modify the viscosity of the engine oil to better suit Your location; going with a thinner one will actually allow Your engine to function better.

ATF M-V is the ATF you want. Mercon V and M-V ARE NOT the same fluid.
