All models of the Nissan Maxima made froM2009 and onward are going to need to use a CR2032 3v cell battery. These batteries are a bit on the expensive side with a single one costing between $5 and $12. You should go ahead and buy them in a two pack so you'll have one for your spare key fob also. In order to replace the battery you'll first need to remove the physical key from the device. Now use a pry tool so that you can unsnap the two sides of the key fob. Once open you're going to see the place for the battery on one side. You'll simply need to swap these out and then snap back together all the parts.
