The key fob for a 2011 Acura MDX is going to need to use a cr2032 cell battery. In order to pop open the key fob so You can access the battery You're first going to need to have access to a precision screwdriver. There will be a screw at the bottom of the key fob that You'll need to remove. Once You do that You'll have the key fob in to different pieces and now You'll need to take the smaller piece and use a tool to pry it open. Once it is open You can see where the battery is located and it will be easy to pry that out and put in Your replacement.

This is incorrect, for my 2011 MDX I needed a cr1616.

I think you can use either but a 2032 lasts longer

Funny. I just opened my key fob and it says CR1616 on the inside of the key fob, but the battery says CR1620.

Don’t answer if you don’t know. It’s not helping anyone. It is a 1616. Just went out and bought a 2032 and it’s way too big. Checked the battery inside… 1616!
