The fuel filter in a 2011 Buick Regal can be found inside of the gas tank at the back of the car. The filter is part of the entire fuel sending unit assembly for the vehicle. This filter is designed to filter out any contaminants or debris in Your fuel before it enters Your fuel lines, rails, and injectors. If this filter becomes clogged up You will need to replace it. Typically if the filter is clogged You will notice a decrease in power from the vehicle. You may also notice that the vehicle feels like it is going to stall at some points due to the decrease in fuel pressure that is able to travel through the lines.

The fuel filter is in line but outside on the tank. The fuel sock is at the end of the fuel pump inside the tank
