The 2012 Kia Rio came standard with a 1.6L 4Cylinder across all trim levels which includes the EX, LX, LX plus, and SX models. All of these trim levels will have the same oil capacity which iS3.8 US quarts when the filter is included. The oil type required will also be the same across all trim levels, they will all need 5W-20 fully synthetic oil. With the capacity being just under 4 quarts You will be fine if You purchase a 1 gallon jug as that will be just enough to fill up this vehicle. You are going to need to change out the oil on this vehicle every 7,500 miles or 12 months depending on which happens first.
