The 2013 Chevy Malibu hybrid powertrain control module can be found on the back of the transmission under a plastic cover that goes over it. This is the computer that controls all of the aspects of the hybrid system including the electronic motors and the battery charging system. If You are having problems with the hybrid portions of Your vehicle then there is a good chance that there is a problem with this hybrid powertrain control module. Usually You can use an OBD II scan tool to read the ECU and if there are any faults detected with the hybrid system they will show up there as codes as well. Having a hybrid vehicle can be good for the environment and save You money on gas, but the combination of electronic motors and the gasoline engine do make it more complex to work on.
