The 2014 Chevy Captiva is going to come equipped with a 2.4L 4Cylidner engine under the hood. Chevy offered no other options for motors on this vehicle. The type of oil You're going to need to use will be 5W-30 synthetic. The capacity is going to be 5 US quarts when the filter is included. You should change out the oil on this vehicle around every 7,500 to 10,000 miles. It's going to come with a oil life indicator so You will know when it's time to have the job done.

If you have the eco you need to use a full synthetic oil with Dexos 5w30. Look on the oil cap it will tell you what to buy but as far as what brand to buy--I buy the least expensive oil because these motors use multiple quarts between oil changes.
