The 2014 Dodge Durango's CTS or coolant temperature sensor is responsible for monitoring the temperature of the thermostat and coolant to help engage the radiator fan when necessary. On the Durango'S4.7 liter engine the sensor is located on top of the intake manifold, in between the AC compressor and alternator. The CTS is accessed from the engine bay and removed with a 19 mm socket and 3/8" ratchet. The most common sign of a faulty sensor is overheating, high temperature readings and the failure of the radiator fan. Problems may be accompanied by an illuminated "check engine" light, poor fuel economy and hard starts. The average cost to replace the CTS in a Durango ranges from $60-$70 in parts and labor.
