The P26AB code in the 2014 Ram 1500 indicates an issue with the engine coolant bypass valve. The code definition will state that the bypass valve is stuck. Sometimes it is an issue of the PCM needing an update but often times You will need to have the valve replaced. A new one can be purchased for $70 to $90. To replace it Yourself, the valve is located on the frame rail under the hood on the passenger side. It is recommended that You first remove the air filter boxAssembly for easier access. An 8mm socket is required to remove the bolts. Disconnect the three connected hoses and the red electrical connector. You'll want to clamp the hoses prior to removal to prevent unnecessary coolant loss. A 13mm ratchet wrench is needed to remove the valve assembly and harness.
