The 2015 Jeep Patriot's fuel filter is installed in the fuel pump module which is inside the gas tank and considered a non-serviceable part. The filter is designed to last as long as the module is working. However, due to lack of care or exposure to debris, permanent filters can become clogged, faulty and impair driving. The repair is costly because the entire module must be replaced to service the filter. To prolong the drivability of the Patriot, change synthetic oil at recommended intervals, every 7,500-10,000 miles or 12 months. Use the correct octane in the gas tank (regular, unleaded 87 octane) and schedule routine checkups that include emissions inspections. Regular maintenance will preserve a Jeep's long-term reliability.
