The fuel filter is located inside the fuel line of the GMC Terrain on the undercarriage of the car. The fuel filter prevents contaminants inside the fuel and fuel tank, from entering the rest of the fuel system and causing damage. A bad fuel filter will not deliver the required fuel to the engine, causing a condition known as fuel starvation. This can cause loss of power and may also result in a mIS Fire. These conditions will worsen over time if left unchecked. The average cost for a fuel filter replacement is between $110 and $130 and should be changed after every 20,000 miles. The cost may vary depending on where You get the parts from and also where You get Your maintenance done.
