The 2017 Honda Civic refrigerant type is r-134a. Being a sweaty mess is never a great time. That's why the air conditioner needs to be functioning. You will come across issues with this part at some time. An inaccurate thermostat might come about. The motor could become faulty. A fan might become loose. A nasty odor from the vents will cause problems with Your comfort. A Freon leak will make You sweat. You will come across a few annoying noises from the air conditioner. Loose mounting bolts will become a nuisance. A bad compressor will get noisy. Too much Freon will make this happen. These sounds need to be look into quickly or You will lose Your mind.

I own a Honda Civic 2017 Hatchback Sport. The sticker under the hood and the manual mentions to use r-1234yf refrigerant

The 2017 Civic is 100% R-1234yf. Not R-134a. They are different.

Check the sticker under the hood. The2017 Honda Civic EX Sedan uses R-1234yf refrigerant. The LP (low pressure) fitting will accommodate only the R-1234yf coupling. Ensure before you purchase any gauges or refrigerant that you have the correct type.

I know for a fact the Si uses R1234yf, as indicated by the fitting type and most importantly, the sticker under the hood.

You’re giving incorrect info. The refrigerant is r1234yf ,NOT 134a.

Referred to top answer when selecting refrigerant for my 2017 Civic. Can confirm it is 1234yf and NOT 134a. You will not be able to connect the 134a gauge to the low pressure port.

Yeah honestly thank you to everybody who came back and said its 1234yf and not 134a. To whoever still says this year model is 134a can get bent and thank you for wasting all of our time

R-1234yf is the refrigerant for 2016 and newer Honda Civics. Using the older refrigerant will void the extended warranty that Honda issued on the AC compressor and seals. It is also a federal violation to retrofit the system.
