The location of the cabin air filter on the 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 is on the passenger side of the truck and behind the glove box. The cabin air filter is used to prevent debris and pollutants such as dust and pollen from getting into the vehicle's HVAC. You can tell when it is going bad when there is a weird odor coming from the vents or when there is less air flow from the vents. The filter should be replaced every 10,000 miles in extreme driving conditions or every 15,000 to 30,000 miles in regular driving conditions. It takes less than 10 minutes to change it and the tools needed are T15 torx driver, a ratchet and socket extensions.

No tools are needed at all to change the cabin air filter. I just removed the lower glove box door and right behind it at the back was the cabin filter box. My truck is a 2019 Chevy 1500 but it uses a GMC cabin filter for some reason. The Chevy ones are too big to fit.
