The Chevrolet Captiva uses SAE 5w-30 full synthetic oil. It has a capacity of 5 quarts. Oil keeps the internal parts of Your car's engine cool and lubricated and it also keeps the moving parts from grinding against each other thereby reducing wear and damage. The cost of an oil change for Your Captiva is between $40 and $50 for labor and between $70 and $80 for parts. You should get an oil change every 150,000 miles. Signs that it's time for an oil change include a ticking sound coming from the engine, transmission shifting issues, shaking while idling, exhauSTSmoke, poor fuel economy, and of course if You see the Check Engine or Oil Change lights come on.
