Chevy uses two T20 torx head bolts to hold the distributor on. In order to get to the bolt You're going to need a flat blade screwdriver and a T20 torxBit driver. To begin, remove the thumbscrew on top of the intake track at the throttle body. Turn it counterclockwise until You can pull it out. Next, disconnect the rubber elbow on Your PVC breather and then loosen the hose clamp going into the air box with the flat blade screwdriver. Once the hose clamp is loose pull the boot away from the airboxAnd lift up and forward to remove the upper intake. The distributor will be at the back of the engine up against the firewall. Before You remove the bolts going to the distributor, make sure You take note of the orientation of the spark plugs so that when You put the new distributor in everything will work well.

The bolt size listed for the distributor cap is specified as 7/32 or 5.5 millimeters for the Chevrolet model engine.

I lost the screw and had to buy another. It has a T20 head. It is an M4, pitch 1, and 13mm long.

Let's go back further, and you younger guys get your phones out. What's the screw thread size and length of those that hold the rotor onto the distributor underneath the cap? Yeah, the old points style distributor. Always fun to mess with on a day when you have the whole day to waste and an unopened 12-pack of beer in the fridge.
