The life expectancy of the Chevy HHR is 200,000 miles or about 15 years. Generally speaking, most vehicles will fall into this range of life expectancy, but this is with a couple of assumptions. The first is that proper care has been taken of the vehicle. The owner's manual will have a maintenance schedule for the vehicle. This will detail at what intervals things will need to be replaced or swapped out, such as oil, spark plugs, tires, filters, and fluids. The second is that any check engine light warnings or trouble codes have been addressed as they have come up. If You take the car into the shop once a year for a tune-up and keep up on any extra things that come up then there is no reason the vehicle won't make it to the outer limits of the expected life cycle. If You ignore these things however then You will get half this time, maybe less.

I have a 2006 HHR with 110,000 miles and it runs as good as the day I bought it new. I do the normal maintenance and I LOVE this car. I cannot sat that about the new vehicles I bought that cost almost double the HHR.
I had a 2011 HHR....it was by far the best car l had. Before my son totaled it, the car had about 325,000 miles and it was still going strong. My son leveled a telephone pole and the car's safety features kept him alive. Absolutely without a doubt an incredible car.

I have a 2008 current Miles 207927 still going though I do have a engine light on
I bought 2006 when they first came out..it has 56000 miles (yeah i don't drive long distance) it would be alot less had i not had a bf that i let drive all the time and in 9 months he put 22000 on it but thats a whole different story) at 54000 had to replace the alternator and belt then when it had originally broke i had tried to restart it and after alternator was on the discovered the heads were messed up too so had to replace those but for some reason i would have it a week or two and the alternator would go out again so after 7 of them i gave up and went and bought a 2008 2 years ago and it has 110000 miles. No problems so far.i love these cars i wish they would make them again

My 2009 HHR LS is a true workhorse (I drive 300 miles per day for Uber and Lyft). It presently has 200,000 miles and I have an appointment for a tune-up. Keeping the brakes going is a challenge in my business but finally found the answer by buying top of the line, GM OEM pads and rotors (expensive but worth it). Also, addressing front end issues is essential (those pesky potholes). Love this car.

I've had 2 HHR'S My 1st 2011over 100,000 i sold it to a friend for $2,500 in great mechanical shape. Though there were problems with window , door handle inside broke. Problems with rear bulbs. Mysister gave me her 2007 HHR with 80,000 miles in great shape. However i had to put a new motor in it at 113000. So i should have this one for at least another 200,000. I think as long as you keep up with basic maintenance any car will last.
