What's the Jeep Patriot code p2004 p2017?

The Jeep Patriot error codes P2004 and P2017 are associated with the intake manifold. Together they are are thrown with an illuminated "check engine" light and usually point to a build up of debris or soot inside the intake control valve or jammed butterfly valves within the manifold itself. As the valves age or the mechanical unit managing their function fails, the trouble codes may appear when scanning for the CEL. If the valves are stuck open or closed, the Patriot's engine will either receive too much or too little air, causing performance and fuel efficiency issues. Running too rich or too lean will cause rough and erratic idling, lack of acceleration and reduced power.
